Falls is here, but so does Summer !!
I used to hate cinnamon and most spices when I was a kid. There is something about the strong flavour that throw me off completely. Maybe it’s because I grew with traditional Vietnamese foods which focus on the balance of flavours. I barely remember the first time I tried cinnamon, because it was so bad that my brain didn’t want to register it. However, everything has changed since I had my first cinnamon rolls. The perfect puffy rolls covered in dark sweet brown sugar and grounded cinnamon topped with delicious cream cheese frosting unlocked my world to cinnamon land. I was shook and absolutely in love.
It’s the first week of fall now, so I figure there is no better time to introduce you to this cinnamon rolls recipe. I’m saying this like it feels like fall right now, but if you live in Hamilton, you already know how hot it’s been recently. Regardless of the weird weather, if my calendar tells me it’s fall, it’s time for cinnamon rolls. I want my cinnamon rolls and period!!
Press - Push - Fold - Turn - Repeat
This was the first time I tried to make cinnamon rolls. Luckily, it turned out great. I love the fact that I get to have little breaks when I wait for my dough to rise and reshape. Can we please take a second to talk about how satisfy it is to see your dough rise? It’s like seeing your own child growing up. Well, except the fact that you would have to smash it down after the first proof, reshape it, and then let it raise again into your preferred shapes. Or maybe that’s how parenting works. I don’t really know lol.
You can expect your cinnamon rolls to be extremely soft and fluffy from this recipe. I love the feeling when you pull the roll apart. It’s so satisfying. On top of that, the smell of the cinnamon rolls and the cream cheese frosting complements each other in a perfect way. It’s everything you need for a cozy fall day (Again, it’s burning hot right now. I just keep reminding you it, so you can understand my struggle. #NoAC #BrokeLife). You should definitely give this recipe a try. I promise that you won’t regret it.
