It's National Macadamia Nut Day
It’s September 4th. It’s the National Macadamia Nut Day. I think there is nothing more appropriate than making Macadamia Nut and White Chocolate Cookies for today. I’ve always wanted to try this recipe but I’ve never had a courage to buy Macadamia Nut. The nuts are too expensive and I’m broke af. Let’s just put it at that lol. With that being said, I now have a mission and a purpose to finally experience this recipe.
The first time I had this delicious treat was when I worked in a Vietnamese restaurant in downtown Hamilton. One of the employees bought a box of cookies and brought it to work. I was told the treat was from Walmart and felt free to have a couple. I was super skeptical about this because who on this earth eats cookies in the morning, and let’s be real not everything from Walmart is great. But oh my oh my, I couldn’t be more wrong. It was so damn good. I ended up having 3-4 of those, basically half a box.
The best thing about these Macadamia Nut and White Chocolate Cookies is the crisp golden edges and a soft center. It melt in your mouth almost immediately and reveal the white chocolate chunks following by the white nuts. The chocolate will melt down shortly after and leave you with the buttery, crunchy and flavourful Macadamia Nuts. If you know me, you will know how much I love experience the changing texture in my food. This recipe gives me exactly what I’m looking for.
Back in Viet Nam a couple years ago, fresh cookies didn’t even exist or at least not as I knew. Most of the cookies were store-bought, well packaged, and filled with preservatives. For the purpose of a longer shelf live, these cookies were dried and hard as rock. Because of this, my curiosity was piqued when I tasted the Macadamia Nut and White Chocolate Cookies for the first time. It’s opened up the world of cookies for me, and I’m not coming back from here.
Without any further ado, lady and gentleman I would like to introduce you to our favourite LADY GAGA. No, it’s not. I wish. I didn’t even have the ticket to her Joanne World Tour next week. I’m not bitter or anything (yes, I definitely am). But hey, here is the Macadamia Nut and White Chocolate Cookies recipe, it’s as popular as and as good as our Mother Monster.
